  • Maple Cream...you gotta have some of this.

I love this new food discovery, and I wanted to share it with you.

In my christmas exchange, Ron V. included a jar of Maple Cream. I had never had this before (hopefully you have), but let me see if I can describe it...FREAKIN' AWESOME! Seriously, it is like you took maple syrup and turned it into a spread the consistency of peanut butter...the thing is, it is pure maple syrup...how awesome is that! Imagine a crunchy waffle and the maple syrup sits on top and doesn't make it soggy. What about a biscuit with a little maple syrup on it, or some ginger cookies with a dollop of maple?

I had to have more of it, so got to looking around and bought several lbs. from a sugar camp, But in my research I also found this article and it completely describes the process. Here is a pic...now doesn't that look awesome!

Rich, It stays in the spreadable peanut butter state...and just like the author of that article, I find myself digging into it with a spoon just to eat. It is some awesome stuff...with a serious maple hit.

Also, if you were to use grade B maple syrup, it would be even more flavorful, and darker so it really would look like peanut butter.

For those who have made it before, can you use an electric mixer to stir?
