  • Deep down in the bottom of the chest freezer...

    ...there was a closed container marked 'Quail'. How many, I didn't know. Thawed the mass and found seven wild birds. Not quite enough for a full meal, so decided to add another 'bird' to the mix. Brined/marinated the quail, wrapped 'em up and just rubbed the yard bird with a little Rudy's and S&G. Smoked 'em all up with a little apple and pecan.

    I was going to say I could make a meal out of the quail, but decided I'd better have a chicken leg to go with them. Looks great.

      that is a right fine find in the bottom of the old chest freezer!! Looks like one fine meal!!
