Well not to trump your post...I just saw this on FB like a week ago, there is now yet another hottest pepper, the Moruga scorpion, topping off at over 2,000,000 on the scoville scale. Not sure what you would even do with that...we've grown the bhut's for the last few years, but more of a novelty, they are way too hot to eat on their own, but make a wicked batch of pickles and green tomatoes!!!

Naw, I do not care about that stuff. But you may also be more correct then I on this. I caught a blurb of this on the radio through all the interference from UFO activity in the area.
I tried looking more info up. but seems they have not posted it on their web site as yet. But it was definetly a pepper from trinadad and it's 1st name was scorpion.
I guess these peppers and others are so hot. they have asked the farmers here to not grow them in "you pick em fields" as some folks could die from tasting them.
some of these peppers are hot. in panama' the heathens living naked in the jungles had peppers that were not growing any place else and looked differnt. and I can tell you they were HOT. a sliver would make water squirt out yer pores like a broken water line on a sub temp morning or a guy in LA. working with a shovel in his yard.
But to the point with these thing of great heat. taming them is the KEY. they have some GREAT taste if you can get through the heat. and every pepper has it's own flavor. and you must taste this flavor through the hell it has created to keep its self flourishing and well. the Chombo peppers in the remote areas of the jungles were as hot as they came. and with some sauces mixed with them and other things we could tame them and eat them with the great flavor they imparted into dish's. in the tropics cerviche is not cerviche with out some chombo heat. gaaaaads. was this a rant? I hope not. ya all have a great day. and keep yer wood dry. or for the ones with electric smokers. have a genertor on stand by.

Kyote, is a Chombo the same as a habanero?
I don't understand the reason for these hotter and hotter peppers, unless it's just to have the hottest.
I do know that juice from a dark red habenero will blister your hand! Don't ask! Yes!
