  • Bassman made me do it....

Bassman got me to thinkin’ about chili yesterday with his smoked venison chili . I had made my chili with venison in the past but, never with SMOKED vennie…here’s the result of Bassman spurrin’ me on. Thank you sir, wonderful layer of flavor added to the chili .

    Lightly smoked ground vennie…

Supporting cast of flavor and content…yes, that is three different type of beans

Vennie nice and brown, veggies sautéed and everyone else ready to jump in the hot tub…

    Everybody’s happy and ready for a 2-3 hour simmer…

Oh yeah, this is gonna be nice…

The way we do it ‘round here…

Thanks for lookin’ and BIG thanks to Keith for providing the spark!!

Smoking the meat just adds to the flavors. Nice post Rudy!

Yeah Buddy! That chili looks an awful lot like my chili! I'd toss some at ya if I had any, cause that stuff would be awesome here in Afghanistan right now, with our two feet of snow piled up...

Did you put the meat in the smoker raw or did you brown it first then put it in the smoker?
