Gotta give props to Lisa B. My vac-master came today and it is a quality piece. I already used it on some fish. No more foodsaver junk for me.:banana_smiley:

I have to say... I have a Foodsaver unit, the proIII... going on 3 years solid service. Yes..it was 250 I think... but... Bought replacement gaskets... have not needed them yet.

I'll go along with you, Rich. I have the old ProII that I bought back before 9/11 and it's still going strong. I guess neither one of us will be looking at new ones right away.:thumb:

Didn't mean to hijack your thread, DS. Congrats on the new sealer.

Those ones her company sells are pretty bad ass looking. Especially the huge pro ones like they have on Iron Chef.
I don't vac seal enough to warrant something like that but would love to see pics of yours.

I'm not sure I would agree with that comment..... I have got an average of about 8 years out of mine, which I would consider pretty respectable overall. Post some pics of the new machine, would like to see it, sounds like a nice unit :thumb:

I"ll try to post a video, wish I had the same experience with foodsaver but I"ve been through 3 of them. Killed one on a fishing trip, (moisture I guess), the other two the heat strips started going out and went completely out when I was marinating a loin. (Moisture again). Tried to buy replacements parts from foodsaver, and the only thing I recieved was an email stating replacement parts are not available, sorry for your trouble.

here is a video from youtube.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=_GBAqIYILjk&NR=1
I watched one where you can even put canning jars in there with the lids loose and it will seal it.
