Seems about right... But how many pounds of sausage will you be able to make with all the above... Plus can you put a dollar amount on quality and knowing exactly whats in your sausage??

Being a rookie at the sausage making, Louie gives me the look, that's 50.00 minimum for that endeavour! But I know what is inside that casing.

I couldn't agree more Ken. The quality and the personal satisfaction makes it well worth every penny........ It just stings a bit the day after the order.

Bingo. Cheaper? No, better, yes. So much better, it would be near impossible to buy such quality. And if ya could, the price would be SKY high I'm sure. When I think about selling anything home made, I realize most people would not pay what it costs to produce. Some do... and they keep calling back too.

like ken says...i cannot put a price on being in complete control of what is going in the casings, seasoning to your personal taste, being able to make any size batches...not to mention the better quality and the self satisfaction of doing it your self. if your comparing, it aint apples to apples!!! enjoy your stuff and dont look back, you indeed have the better deal.

The cost is what is keeping me from even attempting it.. I have to first invest in all the cool tools you need.. I have been looking at swap meats for the grinder, the stuffer.. hell I don't know if I will ever find one out here at a swap meet, but I keep a looking...
You sausage heads ROCK in my book!

Looks like you're set for awhile Kieth. Time for me to restock too. My wife never liked brats or breakfast sausage till we started to make our own. Now she just loves it! It's nice to be able to control what and how much goes into the sausage.

When you look at the cost of the equipment and supplies, it seems expensive. Then I think of what I could get selling my equipment. But now I would have to purchase sausage from the store or a meat market; no way, not gonna happen. I enjoy the hobby, talking sausage and the compliments too much. Now, what peice of equipment is it I am wanting next?
