  • "Lazy" Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler

I gave this simple recipe a try earlier this month when Minnbill visited us. This was in the little recipe book that came with my Lodge DO.

10" DO with 7 coals on the bottom and 13 on top. This baked for a little over an hour. Gooey bottom and the top was kinda chewy.

2 cans sliced peaches in juice
1 white cake mix (or yellow)
    Cinnamon
    1 stick of butter

Dump the peaches and juice in the DO. Open cake mix and dump on top of peaches. Sprinkle as much cinnamon as you want on top of cake mix and top with sliced butter.

Thank for checking out my Lazy cobbler.

    Looks delicious!!

I make it the same way with blueberrys and apples..

I use more coals tho. Done in about 30 mins.

With the apples I use a spice cake and top it with coconut flakes.

You can find lots of recipes at any of the scouting sites..Macscouter is one.

    I miss summer camp...

I put "Lucks fried apples" in our cobler and also some cream cheese,,, seems the cream cheese gives is a smoother- firm taste to the cake mix,,,, I get the "lucks fried apples" at Dumpmart,, comes in a can,,, imagine that....

How do you use the cream cheese? Slice it like the butter?
