Bubba I think everybody can really appreciate all the time and effort you put into getting us all too build our own UDS, at least I appreciate it anyhow. You have made the process so simple and easy every time you post something on the subject. I am sure if somebody went and did a count, at least on this site, of who referenced UDS and UDS related information that you would be at the top of the list. I think probably every body here at one time or another has given ya points on UDS and UDS information. At least for me, every time I have a question about them I do a search and look for your posts. Thanks again for promoting the UDS system.

Me too. Not to mention the probably countless PM's he has answered on the subject. Thanks for the ideas and info that helped me finish my build.

Same here. If it wasn't for Bubba, I'd still be fighting the wind with the SnP. Now I don't even worry about the wind..

Bubba posted this on another site . . .

and the wheels started turning. I was hooked and hardly use the SnP anymore.

                    Thanks Bubba.

Thanks for the list. I've been thinking of putting the ol' welder to work by making a smoker or 2 and this will certainly save me some time and &%*% when I'm missing a part and have to drive 35 miles one way to hope that Lowe's has it.

Since I'm watching the Simpson's right now I just can't resist (and yes, I'm "old" but still a kid at heart!!!)
                          1-3/4" nipple- hee hee!
1-3/4" ballvalve- so you can use one then the other!
                          12" x 24" expando-

eta: can anyone think of something else to use besides the 22" weber grill grate? How hard would it be to cut expanded metal with a grinding wheel to fit? Or do I just need to start hitting the dumps the day after 4th of July?

My first drum i used a piece of expando cut with a cut off wheel, works great!
Theres also replacement grates for as low as 9 bucks at the smaller hardware stores.

Thanks for the kudos guys, i think everybody should have a chance to cook on a drum at least once!
