  • Another new guy.

    Hi everyone,

I just found this forum and am glad I did.

I got laid-off work about two months ago, and have been doing most of the cooking and cleaning around the house. I'm using my time to learn to do new stuff and finish projects around the house. And start some new ones (see below) One of the learning things is baking bread, I make a killer sour dough waffle. And to try smoking again.

I had a cheap smoker about 10-15 years ago, I think it was mislabeled it was really a dehydrator! The nice thing about it was it made fuel for the next smoking

Jump to now, I have built a smoker out of a metal garbage can and hot plate. Works good I did and pork butt on Sunday for Mothers day and had some family over and it turned out GREAT, along with buns that I made.

Long story short. I'm planning my next project "Smoker ver 2.0". And am sure I'll have tons of questions.

    Thanks Todd
