  • Traeger Addition

I needed more racks, and a sausage hanging area so I added this. *It has up to 5 racks and 717 square inches cooking space for a total of 1453 square inches of cooking area.

Removed the Traeger stack, cut a hole in the cabinet, did some sheet metal modifications and hung it with 6 bolts. Might have to add a couple of supports.
The Traeger provides more then enough smoke for the added area.

        Sweet add on!

If you need more heat control on the vert. You could add an electric element to the box.

I have gas for now and am planning to try electric to determine which one fits our needs. Electric would be more convenient.

Looks great, gotta love some new toys.
Personally I'm a fan of gas any day over electric.

                  Thanks Stogie.

Not sure which way I want to continue this project as far as heat augmentation. *So far the cabinet runs about 30 to 40 degrees less then the Traeger so I need addition heat. *Not sure if I want to stay with propane, go with an electrical element or both. *Electrical, I think would be more convenient. *

                  Any ideas or suggestions???

I'd stick with the propane since it's already set up that way. Then, if you do need more smoke, you can just add a foil pouch of chips to the Masterbuilt. Just my opinion though. Either way, nice looking setup!

Thanks todowdaddy for your ideas. I only need to raise the temp about 30 to 40 degrees so the propane seems like an over kill but as you said it is already there.

Would another fan in the cooking chamber of the Traeger push enough heat into the vertical to make up the difference you think? If so then have the fan thermostatically controlled to turn off when the vertical reaches temp...

Built that a couple of years ago with material from Home Depot. Char-Broil replacement grate, two pieces of angle and 4 bolts, nuts and washers.

That being said the span on the 075 is to wide to use the grate without some kind of reinforcement.
