  • Beer battered Cod and Sole for lunch....

    Wife wanted fish for lunch so I made a beer tempura batter and fried some up along with some french fries for us...

              oh yeah - my local does a haddock fillet that hangs over the ends of a big dinner plate :-)

                    Thanks for all the kind words and pts, The beer batter is a simple one. I use the box tempura stuff at the local market. I use beer where the mix asks for water and get it to the consistency I like. I also salt to taste at that time. Rinse the fish and pat them dry before dunking them into the batter then deep fry them at 450* till golden brown. I have also done the batter using a splash of Old Bay and pepper to season and it has turned out good.
