  • Camp Cookin'

    Just back from a couple of weeks camping on the Maine coast. Didn't do any smoking, but a bit of grilling and a lot of good cooking.

    Lobster was pretty cheap, so we boiled some up several times:

    My wife loves scallops, so I made up some appetizers with fresh scallops;

    Our youngest son and I did some fishing, so had to fry up some for dinner a few times:

    And here he is making breakfast over the campfire:

    Just had a great old fashioned kind of camping trip! Thanks for looking.

                  They were Atlantic mackerel. Fun to catch and good eating. We caught almost a hundred of them, but threw most of them back as we didn't have a good way to keep them.

                              Looks like a fantastic week!!! NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING smells or tastes better than breakfast cooked out over the open fire like that, well especially the bacon part!! Looks like a great food week out in the open!! I've been wanting to get some lobster to try my hand at lobster rolls. Down on the Jersey shore quite a few restaurants serve them now but for like $15 - $20 a sandwich. It would be cheaper for me to buy the lobster and make them myself...by far!! Lobster are supposed to be cheaper this year.
