  • Memorial Day Brisket and Ribs

Picked up a small brisket and a nice set of baby backs last week looking forward to today. Got up early applied my rub and started my fire and tried not to be impatient. I used a simple but very tasty mix.

    1/3 c Splenda Brown Sugar
    3 T Garlic Powder
    3 T Onion Powder
    2 T Oregano
    1/2 c Paprika

I mixed up two batches did not use it all.

The wife and I enjoyed a early supper. And I have been tiring to watch the rain delayed race...Ken I should have used a little of that 90K to spice it up.

No kiddin' Splenda eh? I assume you have to....right? Along with no salt.

Nice lookin' mix tho. Ever added some cumin? Maybe a heaping tablespoon...

I'm with Rich on this one. How was it with the Splenda? I understand I'm supposed to cut down on salt also. Excellent looking smoke BTW.

Splenda being diabetic, got to cut back on the the old sugar. I had been wanting to try the brown sugar it really work out well and tasty to boot. Was not to sweet not to spicy. Did not over power the meat. Thanks for looking...
