My Newest UDS

Decided to build another smoker. Thought I'd dress it up a bit so painted it either John Deere or Green Bay (whichever you prefer). It was just a shade too large for the Weber lid, so I bolted on a 1 1/2"X 1/8" piece of aluminum strap. Then the lid fit a bit sloppy, so got some flat stove gasket and it works like a champ. Guess I'll fire it off tomorrow and see how it does.

NICE JOB!! That lid mod really turned out good - what a great idea...should save a lot of enamel on Weber lid mods if this get's out!

Nice mod on that lid gasket mate and great paint job. It's actually pretty funny I almost went for jd green on mine but couldn't find the paint so I got something else planned......

We can always change the "ugly" to "upright". Guess it just wouldn't be the same, would it?
