Kingsford Blue Sale

Anyone using charcoal probably knows by now that Lowes and Home Depot are having their annual Kingsford charcoal sale this week. Actually, they do it twice a year, Memorial Day and Labor Day. Anyway, just came home with 240 lbs. for $59.82. No matter how you slice it, you can't beat it. Despite the ones that complain about Kingsford, it's still a helluva bargain. Let the football season begin!

Only grabbed 2 double packs today cause it said limit and I'm going back before the sale ends anyway.
Also picked up a new Bayou Classic cooker base for my gas smoker cause the old ones shot.
Cold Months are coming and the CharGriller goes into hibernation when it's freezing cold out and the gasser gets all the love

I went to Lowes EARLY yesterday and asked the lady who would be checking me out if she would hold me to the 2 per person and she said go checkout with the lady at a different register and load up. I did! 320lbs out the door. I am sure if you go on the last day and if they have plenty left, I would say you can buy what you want..

Yep, the new sale paper from Lowes which starts tomorrow 8/30 - 9/3 has the charcoal on sale again! Wish I had money left but 320lbs should hold me off for awhile if I learn how to control my temps before I use it all up.

Yeah 320 lbs is a good amount, should last a few months if you are really addicted to the smoke

Though I generally use 1/2 - 3/4 of a bag if doing a butt or brisket on a 12ish hour smoke with temp boosts but then again I don't do them more than once every few weeks.

Lowes got me yelled at. Car biz keeps me pretty busy during business hours so I asked the wife to pick up a few more double bags. She kept forgetting . I told here it was going to be all gone so she gets there on the last day. New flyer was in the mail yesterday.....Who knew ?
