  • My Memorial Weekend

    well me and the fam went camping over the memorial weekend...my SIL and husband have 100 acres in maud oklahoma ..we go out there and run 4 wheeler and fish....lotta fun ...we have about 360 acres that we can run 4 wheelers on....here a pic on me on one

    that is also 1 out of 5 ponds we have acess to...
    now at these campouts i am alwasy elected as camp chef...so i brought my gosm...man i love this thing cooks great and portable you cant beat it

    and here is another shot of the chef on breakfast detail

    for dinner that night i did a pig shoulder and a pig butt ( man these were hard to find this holiday weekend )..did not have pre pics because it was already done and wating to be put on...this shot is gettin ready to foil

    the kids were justing waiting by the smoker taking in all the good smell...

    and here they again just waiting for it to be done

    finally done and ready to eat after a 5 hrs in the cooler...

    now we have some happy faces going on...
    and funny it was quiet for some reason




    also made some campfire beans...just sausage , onions, pinto beans , salt and blk pepper

    and finally my plate..i just mixed it together

    man what a great weekend , cant wait to do it again...and i got to take a parting pic with my boys in front of a oil pumpjack that my BIL owns

    i hope everyone at there had a great memorial weekend...i know i did..

    Wow, first thanks for sharing your vacation with us. It truly looks like Heaven.
    Your boys are to darling! The certainly know how to pick the chef too, it all looked wonderful, I love the mixed plate, my kinda grub right there! That is an amazing place I am sure, it is really wonderful to be able to get out to a place like that.. Thanks again for sharing!

        lazy days. you all seemed to have a GREAT TIME...and the cook looked like he kept all belly full and happy.

              WOW, those beans look amazing!! EVERYTHING LOOKS AMAZING. I'm starving now!

              I smoked pork spare ribs Memorial day and then took them to some friends house who invited us over for supper. They had never had home smoked meat at all. Which I absolutely LOVE doing for friends and company. Especially who have no idea what I'm talking about. They of course where blown away and ate a ton of the ribs. We left them all the leftovers, they were stoked!
