  • I ROCKED THIS ONE! Roasted lamb

Been craving lamb for a while now. So went to C&C to p/u a leg. I was fully prepared to pay above 6.00/lb, but they were on sale for 4.99/lb. Took it home and marinated it. The marinade was simple but effective. I didn't measure anything. But the marinade consisted of onion, CBP, rosemary, garlic, Olive oil, small dash of Worcestershire, and red wine. Marinated it for about 20 hrs. Right before putting it on I reapplied some more CBP, and salt. Did it indirect using RO mesquite infused bricks. Took it to 145° and pulled. Let it rest for 45 minutes then enjoyed myself a nice dinner. Served with a green salad with lots of fresh tomatoes, and a smoked/baked potato. Only got a finished pic, and plated. I do love lamb and this one was darn tasty.

I consider my self a bit of an expert on lamb as growing up in NZ we grow up eating and cooking it and I'm stoked to see so many Americans learning to cook and enjoy such an awsum protein and yep dude, you seriously rocked it

Hmmm This sounds like a good idea. I have had lamb ragu made from the shank that was fall apart tender, but never a whole forequarter. I may have to do some hunting for that piece though. Usually all I can find are legs, or chops. After that I am looking at a specialty butcher which can be a bit out of my price range.
