  • Buckeye wood?

So I have tons and tons of buckeye trees where I live. Does anyone know if it is usable for smoking?

            Hmmm..

"The fruits contain tannic acid, and are poisonous for cattle, and possibly humans.[2] Native Americans would blanch them, extracting the tannic acid for use in leather."

I assume the wood would have a high tannic content too...bitter... proceed with caution.

Being originally from the Buckeye State, that explains a lot about how and why I turned out this way... always wondered what Dad was cooking with back in the dark corner of the backyard... just sayin'...
