  • my 2 hr smoker build

    I picked up a cabinet and built a smoker today



    it is nothing fancy butt it will give me the room to do my hams and bacon this fall



    I will have to cut a chimney in yet and damper the stove



    the hottest I got the smoker up to today was 225 that was with a load of dry maple, tomorrow I will try charcoal and see how hot it will get




    I can't wait to do some snack stix in it next week

    Well, that'll hold some meat :{)

    Might wanna get a little more air into the firebox for sticks. Charcoal should be fine.

              That's pretty cool, and able to hold enough meat to feed a small army.

                it will have 3 levels,I will use dowels for hanging sausage,ham bacon and such and will make 2 racks for pork butt, fish and what ever else may need some smoke.

                    Looks great , especially for 2 hours.
                    We used to make them very similar for cold smoking fish

                      I like the simple design and would have never thought about doing one this way. This would be perfect for doing a processed hog that is put up for the winter.

                              very nice. I haven't cranked up my fridge smoker yet,the budget won't allow for filling the thing up..
                              that firebox gives me a great idea for running cold smoke to mine when I don't want an actual fire in it.
