  • Pie for supper

Pear pie, I made the first one with a top crust but had pears left over so made a second pie, no top crust but a tiny bit of cognac!

I really need a big slab of that right now. Two scoops of Mountain Huckleberry ice cream on top. Excellent looking pies!

Sampled the no top crust tonight, flavor was great but a tad too juicy, may have added too much apricot preserves or tapioca?
But put a slice in a bowl add vanilla ice cream and all is well.

Not that I know shit about baking, but i doubt it was tapioca that caused the "juicy".

Was shopping today and found out I used the wrong tapioca I used tapioca pudding and not instant tapioca, that accounts for the extra juiciness of the pie, still good with ice cream.
