  • Spicy Smitty's Peanut Brittle...Oh Yeah, you are gonna want some of this.

I love peanut brittle...but I wanted to spice it up...Weeeeellllllllll lookie right here, I got me some smitty's spice that would be perfect!

Here we go (photos from me new camera).

    Got me some Herman's Nuts

Using the recipe from the back of the bag

Threw the ingredients into a sauce pan

I didn't know how much Smitty's to use, so I started with 1/2 teaspoon

Once I stirred it up I thought I needed more, so I put in another 1/2 Teaspoon

    Added the peanuts

Here's what the back of the spoon looked like...cooked it until it started turning brown.

Dunped it into a greased pan

MAN IS THAT GOOD! it is such a wonderful warmth added to a delicious holiday favorite. You have to try some of this.

I won't say it is hot...but it has a fantastic overall warmth to it...the kind of spice that makes you keep going back for more and more and more. It is truly delicious! I am planning on distributing some home made goodies to friends and neighbors...and I guarantee that this is gonna make it into the mix. I'm gonna take some to work and sample it around too...we'll see what they say.

I was just thinking to myself, that I could make that, leave it out on the counter, and just wait for the spousal unit to dig into it.......

Bump...I made some more of this and distributed at work. It is a huge hit, and kind of fun to watch people take a bite and then get a look and then just start nodding in approval. This stuff is awesome... between this and the Redneck Fire Crackers, I need more Smitty's!
