OK.. Got 2 drums from a buddy of mine at the foundry. Think I'll turn them into a couple of UDS's...

I'd defiantly go for the 2 3/4 intakes as opposed to the 3 half inch, mine runs like a dream

I think you are right on that. Most stuff I've read never mentions opening the other two after burn in.

Going to top them with Weber lids? If so, consider cutting the bottoms out to be the tops. The bottom rim fits a Weber lid better and it leaves you with a removeable bottom for cleanout.
My next build will have 2 - 1 1/2" or 2" ball valves piped up near the top.

I was going to top mine with a weber lid. What did you use to make that cut ?
