  • First Dutch oven, first DO cook

My wife told my inlaws to get me the lodge 5qt DO for Christmas. Man I love her! Anyway, I was itching to break it in after adding one layer of seasoning on top of the factory "pre seasoning ". Decided to make sloppy joe casserole .

Ground beef, onion, jalapeņo, orange pepper, garlic, S&P, manwich sauce and a lil water. Browned the beef along with onions and garlic. Then added veggies and then the sauce. Let it simmer a good 15-20 minutes on the stove top. Then added a layer of shredded sharp cheddar cheese and premade biscuit dough and put in a 350 oven until biscuits were done to my liking. Man it was good--- perfect meal with the Christmas Eve snow we are getting. Can't wait to do a mountain man breakfast in it for Christmas morning! Thanks fer lookin everyone and Merry Christmas!
