  • Smoking Cheese

I have a Camp Chef smoker, which runs on propane. Obviously, running it with the gas on will be way too hot for cheese. Would some charcoal and wood chips in the smoke pan work? Just enough to make smoke? Thanks

Should work, but I wouldn't burn more than 1 or 2 briquettes. I'd recommend purchasing an amaze-n pellet smoker! Great product for cold smoking! Post pics when you do it! Good luck!

Yep that should work fine. Try just one or two briquets, just enough to smolder your chips. You want to "cold smoke" cheese, but I have found that a room temp works about the best. Just enough to slightly soften the cheese. I think it absorbs the smoke better.

Richtee, that was the result I am trying to avoid. The forum doesn't need another example.
