thes were in there along with the cheese for 7 hr, they have the smell of hickory but no flavor of the wood, is this the way they all ways turn out?

I did some almonds with hickory at about 250 and they came out almost too smoky. I tossed them in a skillet with butter , salt, pepper and mad hunky beforehand. They were good right off but were great after a few days.Weber Smoky Joe

i forgot to add 'cold smoked" to my post,
yaa cold smoking peanuts wont work and hadn't seen any posts on this topic, they were already roasted and salted, i thought maby the peanut oil in the nuts was blocking it somehow,ive always thought cold smoking was the way to go with peanuts ill try hot smoking next time, im guessing that the heat is making the nuts softer to gain the smoke flavor.my Q-view pics on photobucket
