  • Pulled lamb with MH GP rub

So my second go at smoked lamb.

2kg lamb forequarter rubbed with MH GP rub. Smoked in the MES with apple wood at 230F for 10 hours. Didn't have time to let it rest for hours so basically pulled it straight after taking out of the smoker. Got very little smoke penetration, think it was because of the fat layer on top and bone on the bottom. The AMPS was producing nice thin blue smoke though.

    Rubbed

    About 4 hours in

Bone simply pulled out by hand with little resistance

Fat cap removed (will maybe trim more off of it next time to let the smoke and rub penetrate the meat more)

    More clean bones

One with Rendezvous sauce and the other with homemade coleslaw (courtesy of my lovely - patient - wife) and Luling's sauce

    Turned out great!
    Thanks again for looking.

That looks great, smoke penetration or not!

You did save me one of the sammies didn't you?

Wow... that pulled rather nicely! Good looking meat too. That hunk would likely be close if not $40.00 here... ugh.

Cheers Mark. It tasted great too. Sure, there's still plenty left. Coleslaw?

Yeah, pulled very easily. Bones slid out too. Think it was about $20. There are a few good commercial butchers here in Sydney selling to the public now so getting cuts is becoming less of a headache.

        Thanks.

          that's cheap !

cost you way more than that over here.

          Nice looking lamb

Try boning it out before cooking next time, that way you can season inside before rolling and tieing
