    Friendship Bread

    Ever heard of this stuff? A friend of mine gave me bag of this concoction. Supposed to follow the directions and at the end make this sweet bread with pudding mix and such. Doubt I'll make that, but....Is this the same concoction you folks use for your sourdough goodies?

    I'm supposed to add flour, sugar and milk today. Being lactose intolerant, I drink almond milk. It's the only alternative I can stand. Will this work in it?

    Sorry for all the questions, but I've never been much of a baker.

      Ray, my Oldest bakes all kinds of things and she only uses almond milk. Makes it herself. I just asked her and she says its no big thing.

        Dont make it!
        The stuff is addictive...
        You will end up making it every weekend just so you dont waste the ever growing starter stuff...
        You will gain weight in a huge way...
        Just dont do it...dont let it happen...

          My form of baking is open a box, add oil, eggs and milk. Lol. The almond milk has worked fine. But this is a whole different critter.

            After further research this IS the same as a sourdough starter. Others have used almond milk with good results. Mine is doing great.

            I will have a ton of questions. My baking skills suck. Hope to change that.

                    I'm no chef and can whip up some crazy stuff, but can't get frozen bread dough to bake right. WTF?

                      I remember my mom making it and it's awesome. But once you start you have all of those starter bags you need to give out to others otherwise your going to have a boat load of baking to do.

                          My neighbor used to bake this bread and try to give me some of the starter. Sounded like too much work for me.

                              Well yesterday was day ten. Added ingredients as per directions and measured out in one cup portions. Stuck them in the freezer.

                              Supposed to be crummy weather this weekend so maybe I'll give it a try.
