  • Bacon Beer Bread

Vermin99 recently posted about this five minute beer bread. Thank you. For someone who has not had a lot of luck working with flour, this is a breeze.

    http://www.thecookingguy.com/cookbook/recipe.php?id=264

Used an Amber Lager made by Third Shift. Apparently made by Coors, and the reviews aren't very good, but made a good bread. I can't leave anything alone and bacon makes everything better......right? Had some cooked bacon left from another dish. Chopped it very fine. About 1/3 to 1/2 cup. (Didn't measure) Don't like real hard crusted breads, so I rubbed about 1/3 of a stick of butter on it when it first came out. Yes, there's a couple pieces missing.

May try some sunflower nuts next time. Sure there's lots of possibilities.

Sounds good. Beer breads are great easy ways for non bakers to make something edible with ease.... Sweet corn, cheese, and green chiles or japs are a great add as well!

mix in a couple of crushed vitamin c tablets and it'll stay fresh for a couple of days.
The vitamin c a is an oxygen scrubber so it stops the bread goi9ng stale. Which with a leavened yeast free bread is a real problem.

Basically it's a version of cowboy damper bread

It's delicious. Going to make some croutons for a salad with the last of it. Will be making more.

This one won't be around long enough to go stale. Lol. But that's a great idea for future loaves. Thanks.

Oh yeah. Like I said there's a lot of possibilities.

I found a recipe in the newspaper last fall. Similar to this. Had corn, chives, cheese, a bunch of things. Good, but too many flavors.
