  • I didn't get to smoke on Fathers Day, but this was better.

This year on Father's Day I did not get to fire up the smoker but I did get to take my daughter to her first major league baseball game. We drove down to Kansas City for the weekend and went to the Cardinals-Royals game on Sunday. There is just something about going to the ballpark and eating a hot dog with my kid on father's day that can't be beat. I have been a Cardinals fan all my life-so far Maddie likes them too.

It was miserable hot at the game, my daughter cooled off by dumping water over her head.

It was a great game (for the Cards). They won 12-5. Pujols hit 2 home runs, one of them was a grand slam. Definately a father's day I will always remember.

      Who could ask for better?
Great days like that just won't last forever, so we have to get all we can before they forget who we are.

Ya know... the Astro Dome is called "The Hide Out" now, right next to Reliant Stadium (biggest damn stadium I have ever seen) I Got to go two stepping in the Astro Dome after the Houston Rodeo, and they still had the bases in there.. I sat right down on home plate, I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. The new stadium I can't recall at the moment is it Minute Maid park? Was pretty neat too with the retractable roof...

Baseball... good stuff, too bad it aint what it used to be!
