  • Question....

Is there a rule of thumb for baking pan size to DO size conversion? For instance if a recipe says use a 9X13 baking pan would this roughly equate to a 10 or a 12 inch DO?
I'm making the Mountain Dew Apple dumplings today and wonder how many I can expect to fit in my 12" DO.

There is a table just for DOs....let me try to find it. I could have probably fit 10 in my 10" when I did them.

            Found it!

            8 x 8 baking pan = 8 or 10 inch dutch oven

            11 x 7 baking pan = 10 inch dutch oven

            9 x 13 baking pan = 12 inch dutch oven

            10 x 15 baking pan = 14 inch dutch oven

Let me know what you come up with. Still want to try this in the DO as well. It's a killer recipe.

Thanks Becky exactly what I was looking for! As it turned out I bought the Big and Buttery Crescent rolls so they were extra large. I put 2 apple wedges in each crescent and could only fit 8 in my 12" DO. But they were as advertised! Awesome! Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and they were fantastic! I didn't take any pics but that's not unusual for me. We are usually entertaining people and things get busy. But this and the hornets Nest Cake will be in the rotation for sure!!
