  • 12# Brisket/Bourbon/Beer w/ Pics

Since I had to work on July 4th, I decided to have my little Q today...Been scoring on the .99/pound briskets at Kroger's. Sale ends Wednesday...Also, bought some seasonal Abita beer and some bourbon for the smoke...It's at 152 internal right now. Going to be a late night...

Well it's done. Took it to 205, pulled it, and put the food saver to work. Sky fell out last night during the last few hours. Tasted pretty good...

great looking brisky! that ought keep ya fed a while.
I have a bourbon bbq sauce recipe that we enjoy.

              1/4 c unsalted butter
              1/4 c veg. oil
              2 med onions minced
              3/4 c bourbon
              2/3 c ketchup
              1/2 c cider vinegar
              1/2 c fresh squeezed O.J.
              1/2 c pure maple syrup
              1/2 c molasses
              2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
              1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
              1/2 tsp salt

In a pan melt the butter with the oil over med. heat. Add the onions and saute until golden. Mix the rest of the ingredients in to the pan and reduce heat to low. Cook the mixture until it thickens. aprx 45 min. stirring frequently. serve warm for best results.

I hope this isn't too late for ya. enjoy!
