  • Dutch Oven Madness - Family Fall Fest Fun at the Farm

Had the whole fam damily out at the farm last Sunday. Some of you may have seen some pics on my Facebook page. Counting our self, we had 11 adults and 9 kids. I smoked a Mad Hunky rubbed 5lb pork loin, fajita spice rubbed chicken thighs and legs, meatloaf ABTs, and we had 5 DOs going and 1 skillet with lid. I was WAY too busy to take any pictures of food but I stole some of my SILs. She didn't get any of the pork loin or chicken.

Hornet's Nest Cake (has became a favorite of ours), skillet apple pie biscuits, and baked mac 'n cheese in these 3.

Another skillet apple pie biscuits (no nuts) in the skillet, green beans and cowboy beans in my hammered DOs. The white blob is a biscuit my brother sat on top

    All 6 together!

My SIL and brother made the cowboy beans and skillet apple pie biscuits. VERY good! If anyone wants the recipe for the biscuits you can find it here.

Apple pie biscuits with no nuts and before icing

    And with nuts before icing

My green beans with pork jowl, onion and little taters.

My mac 'n cheese with Ritz cracker topping.

    And my hornet's nest cake.

The kids had an absolute ball! I had bought a bunch of little pumpkins and paint so they could paint pumpkins. It was really neat to see how creative they got.

My favorite my niece did...a black kitty.

It was a beautiful day with my favorite people! Thanks for looking!

What a great post! Great looking food all prepared outside, family, kids having fun, can't ask for much more than that. Fantastic stuff Becky.

Do you even own an oven??? Because you certainly don't need one.
              .

Not to mention the occasional campfire
