  • Wine soaked oak

Me daughter from La. sent me a box of wood for Christmas...Much better than a lump of coal...
The wood is used wine barrels chopped up for cookin...Smells kinda interesting when lit...Of course, I took a chunk right over and stuck it in the flame of one of mamma's Christmas candles...
Thinkin this will add a new twist when grilling indirect...Lena says smoked cheese will taste like wine and cheese

    Merry Christmas to ya all...

Interesting thought process you got goin on there Craig!!!

I got some pellets from Todd which are the wine barrel variety as well(what kinda wine i dont know)... but I like Lenas idea and mebe need to smoke some cheese. And with the temps the way they are be pretty tuff to have a Richtee expierience unless you went to direct heat.

As most of you know... one of my "secrets" to red meat jerky is red wine in the mix. Sooo... this might be a nice complement as well

The staves are oak ... Fairly mellow smoke IMO
