I ran across this recipe from a friend of Paymasters so I wanted to give it a try. I put it in the iron section since it calls for a wok and ours is iron. Rich, move it to the kitchen if you want.
The ingredients are simple, chicken, shrimp, and sausage for the meat. The veggies are fresh celery, bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms.
I didn't have any specifics so I cooked by what I thought was right. I cooked up the chopped veggies in the wok with a little olive oil.
Once done, take them out and put the meat in the wok. I did the chicken and sausage first since shrimp cooks fast and doesn't need a lot of time. He called for throwing in some cajun spices along with chicken stock/broth and some wine and let it reduce. He used a red wine I think, I used white as that's what we had.
During all of this, we had a pot of rice going in the steamer.
Then, mix the veggies back in and let it simmer for awhile. I think I let it simmer maybe 20 minutes.
At last, it was dinner. I added some heat and season broth to mine and mixed it up as did the Mrs. The kids always do the rice and food separate. It was very good.
Thanks for looking.
