  • IrishChef's Maple Syrup Pie

This is what I was saving room for after the Enchiladas. My buddy gave me a jar of real maple syrup. It's been sitting in the pantry waiting for something like this.

    http://www.smoked-meat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31811

I can't make a pie crust to save my life, so I looked into the frozen ones. Bought a 2 pack of premade frozen 9" deep dish crusts. Worked great. I topped it with a few pecans. Being the first time and all. Planned to give some to friends. They could pick them off if not a fan. Didn't last long.

OMG! He wasn't kidding when he said it was like 5,000 calories per fork full. You better have a cup of coffee or milk to help wash it down. It's super rich! Liked it so much I'm going to make another this week. More pecans this time. Just for me.

Thanks IrishChef for the recipe, and to you folks for checking it out.

Think if you look hard enough you could find a bottle....or two. Give it a try.

This is real easy to make folks, and you can leave the pecans out. But it's awesome with them in there.

Oh dear God! I love maple syrup, and I love pecan pie, how could I miss with this. I'd have to go an extra day or two on a treadmill, but it would be worth it.

Or 3 days. It will derail any diet.

Forgot to mention, the sweetened condensed milk comes in a 12 oz can. 3/4 cup is half a can. What to do with the other half? Make a second pie!
