  • What She askes for She gets!

My wife asked for a "Non" smoked, oven roasted pot roast a while back. While at the store the other day I noticed that the 7 bone roasts were less expensive than the rest of the roast so I picked up a nice looking slab. Pretty typical cook. Marinated the roast in Worcestershire for several hours. Seared it in olive oil. Layer the bottom of a dutch oven with onions. Put in tomato paste, salt, pepper, bunch of garlic cloves, the roast topped with taters, carrots, celery and several cups of beef broth. put it in a 295° oven for about 4 1/2-5 hours. Fall off the bone tender goodness! Can't wait to smoke the other one I snuck into the freezer!!! My fabulous wife made some beer bread using Wailua Wheat beer, YUMM!!!

The dogs enjoyed the bones, but were disappointed in how clean they were!
My better half made this fantastic bread!
    Veggies on top!
    Meat!
    Broth, so good!
    ENJOY!!!!

Nice looking pot roast right there! That's some comfort food at it's finest! Bread looks nice and crunchy. The misses doesn't like it smoked? Man, I put the pot and all on the smoker.

Thank you!!! Yes for roast and stews this cut is by far the best! We do more chicken than beef. My wife was a vegetarian before she met me. All it took was one of my smoked cheese burgers and she was back to bring a carnivore!

Ahhh, another successful intervention! Over here our meat diet is made up of mostly venison. So eating beef is kind of a rarity, mebe some ribeyes or chuckeyes a cupla times in the summer, a rib roast, and a rare chuck roast is about it. Other wise we stick to the elk and deer meat, it actually tastes a little weird when we do have it. Even all of our ground is venison of one type or the other.
