  • Landmann Blackdog 28?

    Hey folks!

My BBQGrillware (Lowes Speacial) is dying. I cannot get new parts for it anymore. Out of business I suppose.

anywho, it is basically a rectangular pit with ahuge coal bed that can raise and lower a good 12 to 14 inches. I can grill for the neighborhood but y'all know I can smoke anything you can smoke on it. even cheese in the winter.

My wife actually said it may be time for a new one, and she nevers says things like that.

I want a similar style to the one i have now. and the Landmann Black dog 28 seems to fit the bill. with a few bonuses. It seems much deeper and has a bigger charcoal access area.

one drawback that I will have ta deal with is the BBQ-G had cast iron ends that helped it hold constant temps and eliminated the need for a water or sandpan. this BD28 is all Steel.

    AFTER ALL THAT....WHAT'CHA Y'ALL THINK?

“NOTE: Because this item weighs over 200 lbs, it must be shipped by freight truck and may require additional shipping charges after check-out.”

Well, it seems to have SOME mass. Heh. I have never run or even seen one tho, so I guess this post is worthless ;{)

it says the weight is 105 lbs but I can'tr find the guage of steel it uses. It is 510 square inches of grill space wich is 20" more than mine so about the same footprint as mine now

It's not as pretty as the Stainless Steel, But I can't paint and styler up later.

wow that is weird, even below on the specs of that page it has a shipping weight of 124, I have seen it on Amazon for 400, and Wally world has it out of stock for 2sumptin.

Do you know of any other adjustable box pit smoekers out there?

I am game for anything. still can't get a lang or an yoder yet...

Try the Char Broil CB940X. Here is some pics of mine, although I dont think you'll get the same deal. lol This thing rocks, and yep, they are heavy. This guy is 180 lbs, and well worth it cuz they hold their heat great.

RR That is a right nice gril/smoker. and I like that it has 4 caster instead of 2. The cutting boards are neat.

That actually beats out the Blackdog on all aspects except for charcoal access.

Thanks I think that one may have slipped to the top of the list. plus it looks real easy to get parts.

              Thanks
