    A quick Ebay search... http://www.ebay.com/itm/GCA-Precisio...item1e90e8789e

Nothing fancy.. use your digital thermo to monitor temps. Similar to what I use.

I had one of these http://www.dorkfood.com/, many love it. I did not simply because it stopped working the second time I used it. Think it was just bad luck on my part. The lady for the returns was very nice and within a week and a half I was refunded my money so yes its a good company to deal with. The idea with this one you can use it for different setups. I liked that part. I now use my plug-and-play PID temperature controller from auberins.com. They also have sous vid controllers.

The Anova circulator is a rock solid device, that will clamp onto any vessel you have. I highly recommend it!

Anova very recently had a 4 hour sale. Units were selling for $130.00. Earlier they were selling for $150.00. Visit the Anova website and get on their email list to receive sale info. Also hit their Facebook page as well as Amazon.

Seems to me that if you have a device like the MES you can use it for S V cooking. Just put the water in the MES, in a pot of course, & set the temp & put the vac bag of meat into the water & the MES will keep it at temp as long as you want it. What thinks ye?

Eh.... the thermal mass of the water might present an issue. The MES is measuring air temp..NOT the liquid temp. Don't think you'd have the control you need.

I see more and more people getting into this type of cooking and yes it is all new to most of us. All the times and temps we have used in the past are out the window so to speak. It would be nice if we opened a section just for this type of cooking. Until then I would suggest anyone wanting to get into sous vid cooking read over A Practical Guide to Sous Vide Cooking located HERE

Just remember you can sear your burger, steak or what ever your cooking and still have that nice pink color and tenderness. All you need is the right temp and time and the knowledge to make it happen.

                    Meat is very expensive.

                    Get a good SV machine.
