  • Say hello to my little friend

I finally did it! I own a stick burner as of this evening after work. Found a 16" Original Okie Joe on CL.
She includes an Horizon convection plate, Weber charcoal chimney, and a Mav 372.....all for $340.
Who knew a stick burner like that would fit in a Honda Element? Laying on its back with the stack hanging out on the tailgate. Damn, that little thing is heavy!!

Now I'm gonna have to find some actual fahrwood.

        Congrats!
Lang 36 Patio, a few Webers, 2 Eggs, plenty of gadgets and a MES 40 Gen 2.5 electric for bacon and sausage.
My best asset however is the inspiration from the members on this forum.

Thanks, Ryan. I may have to take you up on that. Hickory scrap from the shop may burn a little on the hot side.

Congrats now I know what to look for. I seen one hanging out at a barn down the road a few years back.

Sounds like you got a great deal.

                Nice rig ya got there...
Ya might need to tighten up that grate in the fire box...
I put the same grate in my 20" Longhorn...Ended up laying another grate over the top of the heavy duty one to keep the coals from falling through...

yes...nice buy. BUT- consider a charcoal basket for the box. I'm having one made for the Lang. For those days when tossing a log every half hour gets annoying.

Really though...Doesn't that change it from a stick burner to a charcoal smoker? Just sayin........

There's an extra grate with it so I might be good there. I'm looking forward to getting her fired up.

                              cool man!!!
got the convection plate too,,, hit the ground runnin!!!
fair price too with the extras,,,
considerin its the real deal with 1/4" plate permanence...
                              I have tried with luck
adding a square of (much)smaller mesh expanded metal in my firebox...
just slightly smaller lgth & wdth than the factory grate...
I was losin coals somethin awfull...
(planning a basket for long burn cookin in the future)

                              enjoy!!!
