  • First NY Strip Roast

    I just started smoking my first NY Strip Roast. Rubbed it first and let it sit overnight. I started it in my Masterbuilt Elec smoker at 275 for 45 minutes. Then reduced heat to 240. Anyone know at what temp I should stop the smoking for a medium finish? Should I let it rest before slicing?

    Yes let it rest before slicing. For medium I'd pull around 133 then wrap in foil and rest for half an hour.

            Great for me...got a little too rare for my wife. I broiled a few pieces for her to med well. Next time I'll smoke to 145 before pulling from smoker.
