  • My Pickled Sausages

    ok everyone here is my try at pickled sausages....thanks WD for the tutorial on how to do it...i followed the recipe somewhat close....ok this is what i had on hand for sausage....actually taste pretty good

    everything laid out...got some japs , carrots , onions , some small poblano i took out of the garden to do this and another pepper i think is a bananna pepper and some BB pickle spice

    all cut up

    and here is the brine going and the jars in the hot water bath gettin ready

    and here they are filled ....the third jar didnt get packed well enough because i did not have a whole lot left..i guess i could haved packed them tighter

    ok i let these set and pray they seal..and well give it a taste in about a week or so....and BTW i will put this in the fridge just in case they dont seal...

          Mike.............press lightly down on the tops, if the lid sucks down, and there is NO play in it..........your good to go..........

                well just went over and they sealed no play in the lid...funny because i never heard them pop...oh well main thing they are sealed so we will see in about a week or so....

                  two weeks dude...........two weeks............IF you can wait!

                  mine will go till the gathering...........close to 4 weeks........and NOT refridgerated. I have noticed on some things, like cukes and onions........i like em better room temp.........tho momma likes em refridged, but i have noticed, a better flavor developes being room temp.


                  let us not cry because we lost someone, but let us smile because we enjoyed their company for what time was allowed us!

                    ok you convince me to leave them out....they did seal so we should be good...and waiting 2 weeks ....man thats going to drive me crazy sitting looking at them being all delicious..well the good thing is that these 3 jars are all mine the wife and kids dont like pickled sausages....

                      Those really look good. Good luck waiting 2 weeks!! My 1st jar is always gone after the 1st week.

                        gotta make some sausages soon anyway, maybe reserve some for that :-)
