  • Sous Vide Bone in Strip Steaks

    Picked up some Prime bone in Strips, aboot a lb each for $6.99 lb. Seasoned them worth Chicago steak seasoning, olive oil, and granulated garlic. In the SV for 4 or so hours. More to come.

    Ya know..a neat point of SV here... if ya straight grilled them..you NEVER get the meat next to the bone done enough..without overcooking the rest. Problem solved :{)

      Can't wait. Maybe some nice corn on the cob and some more bellas as sides? Stayin away from potato or rice type starches right now in me diet.

            Thing gives us another amazing meal. Pouring outside, so used CI for the sear.

            I did bump the temp to 135 after my wife informed me she didn't want medium rare. Not a terrible sacrifice though, thing could be cut worth a plastic butter knife.

                    Do both at 129F, then take one out and reset temperature to 135F, 20 minutes later, drop some ice cubes in bath and set temperature back to 129F, and put both steaks back in.

                    No need to compromise or start a fight with wife. SV can do yours and hers at exact specifications. And you don't need to buy two setups.
