  • Just had a strange thought...

... while reading the forum. Or maybe it's not so strange, I've just never heard of it before.

Has anyone ever pickled zucchini like a dill pickle? I quick google search turned up quite a few recipes, but I've never seen nor heard of pickled zucchini before, so I just wondered how they'd turn out.

Grandma use to do it, and I use to enjoy it as a kid. Haven't ever done it myself, but it's definitely worth trying! Grandma pickled everything as a kid though...

Whipped up some wings the other night on the spur of the moment. Didn't have any carrots or celery, but did have a zucchini and a crookneck squash. So, I cut them up into 1/4" square sticks and did a quick pickle with cider vinegar, water, a tough of sugar and some salt, pepper and a bit of oregano. Let them sit for about and hour while the wings cooked. Me wife and I both just loved them. Will definitely make then again when we have wings. Perfect accompaniment. I don't see why zucchini pickles wouldn't be great!
