  • Favorite smoked cheese?

its cooling down, snow is on the mountains and even on the lawn some mornings. Thanksgiving is coming on and I'm getting horny to smoke some cheese again for Christmas gifts.

I've kind of been generic the last few years and tried to buy some good quality mild cheddar the last couple of years. I smoked some pepperjack and cheeses a time or two, but those flavors didn't really lend themselves to smoke.

I need some of you misfit pricks expert advice: Whats your favorite cheese to smoke? I've been using pecan mostly, but I'm open to something new. 10 pounds went way to fast last year, so I'm thinking about more this go around.

    Thanks in advance!

As the others have said smoked Gouda. I also like smoked SHARP cheddar don't use mild you fellow prick . Get yourself some good sharp Tillamook cheddar. Then use both of those to make mac & cheese. Then you can send me a thank you.

I love smoked gouda and Mozzarella...but a sharp cheddar and this Habanero cheese that I get from Costco are excellent. This stuff will light you up and I just love it smoked!!

From one misfit prick to another...
I love smoked pepperjack...But something as good as a habanero cheddar just doesn't need smoke at all...But extra sharp cheddar and smoke go so well...

I use pecan or cherry...Sometimes nut shells such as pistachio or almond...

Gouda has been my favorite. Most popular is apparently another story.

Pepper Jack, Co Jack and mild cheddar in that order. Hickory smoke. Next time I want to try Edam.

The sharp Tillamook cheddar is great..and what I usually smoke the most, but my favorite is Jarlsberg! Cherry or applewood goes really well on those.
