Tea Bag w Ingredients as smoking flavor

Got this as part of an Email from Famous Dave's .

You all ever heard of this?

And if that isn't your cup of tea, bag some tea - green, black, white or any other kind of dried tea leaves. Mix a 1/2 cup tea with a 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup salt. Foil wrap it and place directly on the hot coals. Replace the packet when it stops producing smoke (after about five minutes).

Sounds interesting.

Does anyone here have experience with this or a clone? ?

I've heard of something like it but never tried it. Sounds interesting though.

I believe it's an oriental technique, but I could be mistaken.
