  • 88's Plywood Smoker!

Some of ya'll seen this. I got less than sixty bucks in this cause it was laying around or given to me. If ya need details i'll help ya. It is made from 3/4 inch plywood. Some have concerns about the glue or resins in the ply. I ran heat through it with a hot plate & smoke pellets to season then I ran the propane burner with oak & hickory. If something is gonna poison me I should be dead already. K her we go!

    This was the plan.

    Free stuff.

Ya'll have basic carpentry skills, don't let me bore ya!

Louie took the picture gives ya an idea of the size.

    Tired....

I stained the outside & seasoned every chance I had.

Wutang Chuckies. Man what a fine smell!

I was a good boy & did not drink alot of beer.

I had it up to 350 trying some temp's. Used between 250 & 275 to preseason.
It will change temp's in 3-5 minutes when you change regulator setting.

Jack asked for some pic's. Here we go. Remember, I am an airplane mechanic, not a carpenter. Deck screws are awesome & liquid nails. My Dad gave me an old fish fryer burner, cut the legs off to where 8" from the top of the burner not grate level. I was concerned about heat, so I put a concrete paver under it to absorb heat. Also used copper tubing inside for obvious reasons.

Old fying pan from Salvation Army, 2 bucks to put chunks in with a lid holes drilled in it, only 3 to reduce flare ups.

External temp probe. I Only had it at mid level, has 3 racks. Thanks to Capt Dan, who said I need one at each level. Appreciate all advice & knowledge. I have drilled a hole on the other side to pass my digital lead through.

You can see that the seasoning goes from burner level up. If the board on the bottom gets bad I can pull it out & in with another. More pic's no problem.
