  • Would you eat this? It's been in the fridge almost a year!

Hadn't really posted anything I've done for a while and bein lazy as I been hadn't taken pictures when I smoke. Well, I promise I'll work on that. Meanwhile, lets look at a snack I wrangled up this afternoon. You know how it is, wife's gone shoppin, nothing snacky in the house, sometimes we have to improvise.

I look in the back of the garage fridge (its easy to loose things in there) and I find a little smoked cheese. Monterey. It's been in there a while too.

That might be good but I wanted cheddar. poked around a little more and struck gold!

What else can we find? hmmm Hey! I remember this stuff! Some lonzino I made last fall/winter. This ought to be aged real nice by now.

My mind got to working and I throw together a quick snack.

Dang!! No Ritz!!! When's she gonna get back??? A lil more thinkin and pokin around and I find some cream cheese in the kitchen fridge,,,hmmm..

Well I figured grindin up that rabbit food garnish, mix it with the cream cheese and spread it on the lonzino. Ya know, if I roll a piece of cheese in this maybe I won't need a cracker.

Dynamite!!! Tastes Great but I think it still needs a cracker. I hope she gets home soon..

I'd eat it and consume alcohol just to make sure any germs were properly killed :)

hehehe... yeah,,,, This cheese is outstanding!! I bought it back last fall for $3 a pound and smoked it. It's been aging since getting flipped over once a month.

The lonzino smells like heaven and taste like $100 ham....

regardless, the cheese is smoked and well, anything in the fridge over three days is leftovers in my book.

Looks great. With cheese, the older and stinkier, the better it tastes. Cheese is the only thing I'll eat if it tastes like gym socks.

Wife comes home and tastes one, says "dill pickle would be better than cheese". Yeah well,,, Don't ya just hate it when they're always right. a sliver of pickle was the ticket! A nice little crunch w/out the cracker.

Ahh well, Cheese is still good..
