  • Beer Cheese Soup

This is per Texas-hunter and Walking Dude’s request

    Beer Cheese Soup

    ½ cup butter
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1 cup flour
    4 cups chicken broth
1 ½ cups milk or cream
    16 oz. Cheese Whiz
    6 oz. beer
    1 Tablespoon Worcestershire
    ¼ cup chives
    ½ teaspoon yellow food coloring
½ lb. of cooked bacon cut into small pieces
    Large brick of Velveeta cheese
    Handful of chopped up carrots

Sauté butter and chopped onion, slowly add flour mixing in thoroughly. Then add the remaining ingredients all into a crock pot and let simmer slowly heating, stirring occasionally.

This is a recipe I got years ago and have changed and added ingredients and there amounts to my liking; by all means do the same for your own personal taste. By the way, this is not a good recipe for calorie counters !!!

Per taste, we use the whole thing. Like I mentioned, this is a very rich soup.

Wow, I guess not. Never tried making it before. Sure sounds good. Thanks for the recipe. Think I'll wait until AFTER I lose a few more pounds to make this though.

DON'T FORGET a little fresh popped popcorn (non buttery type) to put on top for a garnish!
