  • Brewery Supply = Sausage Ingredients?

I buy unhopped malt extract to use in some of my bread making fun. And I obtain this by the pound from a local home brewery supply store.
Anyway, I was browsing through their catalog today and noticed something interesting. A lot of the sausage making stuff that I buy on-line, can be obtained at the brewery supply store. How do you like that crap?! All this time, I've been ordering this stuff on-line for premium bucks and getting raped on shipping, when all along, I could been saving money at the damn brewery supply store that I pass daily. Well, when I have 2 working knees and can drive and work. It'd suck if I had to sell the Harleys over this.
Anyway, Some of the items I can get are; Corn Sugar (dextrose), granulated maple syrup, lactic acid, citric acid, ascorbic acid, etc, etc.
Thing is, I buy some cheese making supplies from them also, and other than malt extract, I just never looked at the brewery stuff. I wish I would have.
So I pass this information on, because everyone has a home brewery supply store or 50, where they live, so don't over look them for sausage making supplies.

Yep...good call Gunny. I don't do alot of the styles or any cheeses you do... but I am aware of the chemical names, and do cross-reference some stuff.

    Take heed folks!
