Well, I got her framed today. Not bad for a wood butcher.

The 4x4s are for the drive reduction pulley assembly and that hefty 14" cast iron pulley to drive the grinder. I'll get the pillow blocks & pulleys assembled, lined up and dry fit before I fasten everything down and lay in the plywood. Then I can start installing the motor and lower pulleys. More next week. I plan to use a spider gear to couple the grinder to the upper pulley for easy removal.

Yep...just what ya need! With the wheels, of course ;{)

When you mount those supports for the grinder, etc. consider adding some construction adhesive for those joints that are gonna be directly attached to the rotating/vibrating parts.

I got a little more work done on the table this weekend. Its getting little a heavy now.

Still a bit more work left, diassembly, paint, some trim and then final assembly (including casters).
given the nylon bushing I went with a drive on the top end as well rather than put the strain on the bushing.

My only regret is not being able to get a meat lug under the grinder. Building it higher was considered but I thought it might be too much vibration. I considered cutting in a hole to hold a lug under the grinder. This can also double duty as a scrap bin. I'm thinking it could be a leaker though. I'll give it more thought.
